Robert is back! I’m glad to be able to draw him again because his poses are very dynamic and fun to draw. For this lesson I started out drawing in conte but wasn’t pleased with how the first few poses turned out so I switched to using colouring pencil for the rest of the 1 minute poses.
Because pencil makes much thinner and lighter lines than conte my drawings look a lot different than normal, like they have less mess and less detail, and I’m not sure how I feel about it yet. But I do think that some of these poses turned out well. I kept drawing in pencil for the second part of the lesson (using different colours though). I was trying to give the faces ‘planes’ because we were told to break the structure down into basic shapes and think about our facial modelling assignment for Data Imaging and Visualisation. I really like that last drawing of Robert facing right.
